Smart Nano-Targeted Therapeutics for Cardiovascular Health: A Naturopathic Perspective

Abstract
Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) have become the main reason for people to become ill and die throughout the world because of their complicated relationship with oxidative stress which limits the effectiveness of medical treatments because they produce unwanted body reactions and fail to target certain body parts. The recent development of smart nano-targeted delivery systems creates a fundamental change in CVD treatment because these systems provide targeted drug delivery which responds to external signals and imitates natural biological processes. Naturopathic and plant-based bioactive compounds including curcumin and berberine and resveratrol and polyphenols have shown abilities to protect the heart by their effects which block oxidative damage and inflammatory reactions and regulate fat levels. The clinical application of these substances faces obstacles because they cannot be dissolved properly and cannot be absorbed effectively and they break down too quickly. The combination of nanotechnology with naturopathic medicine through the use of nanoparticles and liposomes and polymeric carriers and biomimetic cloaks will create solutions for existing obstacles while boosting treatment effectiveness and safety. The chapter investigates the developing discipline of nano-naturopathy for heart health by examining its basic processes and both preclinical and clinical research results and its methods of drug delivery and future development trends. The study outlines three essential elements which include the translational path and regulatory obstacles and personalized medicine with integrative medicine as essential components for advancing heart disease treatments.
