Synopsis

α-Oxothioamides play an important  role in the synthesis of several heterocycles. Herein, we summarize the synthesis and applications of α-oxothioamides. Particularly, the detailed synthetic studies of thiazoles, thiadiazoles and α-oxoamidines, which are derived from α-oxothioamides are presented.
