Synopsis

This edited book covers the topics which are useful in research projects for B. Pharm, M. Pharm & PhD students. A major problem with drugs is the lack of selectivity and specificity of action and pronounced undesirable (side or toxic) effects. Thus, in modern day research greatest attention is being paid to 'optimization of drug delivery by maximizing efficacy and minimizing toxicity. We have come a long way in this direction but are still far away from it. The field of Controlled and Novel Drug Delivery is dynamic, more and more advances are being reported through literature and patents and it is the endeavor of this author to disseminate the latest information to the students and teachers.

The contents of this included chapters on Nanoemulsion, Microbeads, Sublingual Tablets, Fast Dissolving Tablets, Floating Tablets, Herbal Elixirs, treatment of various diseases etc. This book is structured in such a way that basic concepts, methodologies, Formulation, evaluation, applications and future prospective give systematic understanding of research projects. This book also covers various advances including applications potential and research exploration possibilities.

We are grateful to Deep Science publishers for their enthusiasm in bringing out this book. We express our deep sense of gratitude to our family for their love, support and motivation in academics and research. Your feedback is most welcome to make the future edition of this text book more valuable for students.
