Synopsis

This edited volume is the outcome of a sustained collective intellectual effort that has been shaped out of the ICPR-sponsored national seminar held at Galsi Mahavidyalaya. The book brings together a diverse range of scholarly reflections on democracy, tolerance, indigenous political traditions, and the contemporary challenges confronting India’s democratic life. Each chapter included here enriches this academic dialogue by offering fresh insights, rigorous analysis, and thoughtful reinterpretations of India’s long democratic journey. I remain deeply indebted to all the contributors for their erudite and meaningful contributions, without which this volume would not have taken shape.
