Synopsis

In today’s fast-paced and competitive business environment, achieving operational excellence is of key concern for organizations; this is especially true in industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, and utilities whereby cost control, productivity, and product quality are critical success factors. Operational visibility is essential to achieving operational excellence. When we talk about operational visibility, we mean the ability to see the end-to-end process, the flow of material, information, and energy across multiple functions, departments, organizations, and enabling systems. It is difficult to achieve and sustain operational visibility as operations are often supported by a variety of disparate systems, are multi-faceted and data-intensive, traverse organizational boundaries, and are dynamic and continually changing.
