Synopsis

Software systems have reached an astounding level of sophistication, which provides complex services to users. Sometimes unconsidered or inadvertently, these systems become central to the operations of tens, hundreds of thousands or even millions of end users, contributing to delivering vital services. Any problem, however small, can mess up the operations of these services, generating huge costs to their own providers and, many times, also to the society. As a consequence, software quality assurance (QA) has become one of the hot topics in software development. QA strategies aim at reducing the number of errors in deployed systems, helping guarantee minimum enforced quality levels by discovering and eliminating defects in software systems.
